Details of Competitions: Theme - Material Science and Civil Engineering
ModelQuest - Ventilation System
Each team will design a 4-story apartment building with a whole house ventilation system for each apartment and separate vents for kitchen and bathrooms.
Judges will evaluate the ventilation system based on the following criteria
1. Innovative Design – 10 points
2. Efficiency (low power, high turnover rate of air) – 10 points
3. Knowledge – 10 points
Three teams per school are allowed. Each team can have a maximum of 3 members. Names should be submitted by Nov. 1, 2017.
Each team makes decorative or functional objects using Terrazzo Concrete technique. The team must name its brand of Terrazzo and come up with a one-sentence advertising line not exceeding 10 words. All of this should be done in advance. At BrainQuest, the teams present their Terrazzo design objects and try to sell them to judges. Judges evaluate the Terrazzo objects based on the following criteria.
Functionality – 15 points
Attractiveness and style – 10 points
Answering questions - 10 points
Least Price - 10 points
Design and Innovation - 10 points
Marketing Skills - 10 points
Taking professional help/kits, copying commercial advertisements and using commercial items and/or their advertising lines will result in negative scores.
Each School can send a maximum of THREE teams. A team can have a maximum of 4 members. Names should be registered by Nov. 1, 2017.

Teams should entertain the audience under 5 minutes andshow how Taj Mahal was built without the help of Modern Technology.
Entertainment must use some scientific and historic facts. Each school can send ONE team with no more than 10 members. Names should be submitted by Nov. 1, 2017.
Students can sell their video games, DVDs, software, books, schoolbags, stationery, toys or items they created (paintings, craft work, toys, photos, storybooks) at the fair. Names should be submitted by Nov. 1, 2017.
Each participant can register only for ONE competition.
